  • overflow box making that drain noise

I have a overflow box that has been making this noise like water going down a drain. its been doing it ever since I set the wet dry up and I'm curious to know if maybe I dont have something set up correctly or maybe I dont have a big enough return pump to keep enough water in the tank to make the overflow work correctly. please someone with any knowledge on this help me cause I would like to get it fixed asap if I can. thank you.

The more flow the louder. I just put a towel over mine

I've heard of people putting pot scrubbers from the dollar store in the overflow to quiet the noise

Inside the box, where the water overflows, just to break the water's fall as it drains. Sounds like you might not be able to do that though? Take a pic

Is the sound coming from where the water enters the overflow or from the water as it moves down your tubes?

See in the center of the sponge the drain tube thats where the sound comes from the water going into the box f4om the u tube is abelow the water line so it makes no noise at all

You can try putting a pot scrubber in the hole that it drains through, just keep an eye out to make sure it's not severely reducing your flow

Heres a pic of my wet dry was wondering if you could tell me if the water level is fine at that level or should it be covering the bio balls partially

You want some of the bio balls to be exposed to the water as it drips, but not completely submerged. This way the nitrifying aerobic bacteria can grow on the bio balls

So then the water level is good
