  • eheim setup

Im putting together my eheim and noticed that the canister is not completely filled to the top with media/filter pads. Is this an issue? I really wanted to get it started today but dont want to risk damaging anything.

Which Eheim do you have ? You can run the filter now without a problem . You can add more media at your convenience .

The filter itself will be fine . Just make sure you have enough bio media to support your inhabitants . Also , if you need a little more bio media to get you by......you can always use some plastic pot scrubbers . Cheap and effective .

right now its a small about of ceramic cylinders(eheim and fluval brand mixture), about 8-10lb of carbon in an eheim bag, and 2 layers of white filter pad that I cut to fit. I have a bunch of extra bio balls for my wet/dry, should I put them between the carbon and filter pads on the top side?

And my single fish should be fine with it, haha. There will be a wet dry and fx5 running at the same time.

Yes, you could use bioballs to fill up the rest, maybe add a bonded blue pad at the very top above the white pad.
