100lb of sand should be enough. I only have 50lb in my 75g .

Really just depends on the stock you're keeping. Some fish need deeper sandbeds, while others don't really need anything at all.
75-100 pounds should be plenty

Also depends on personal preference. Some people like deep sand beds and some people like bare bottom or shallow sand beds. 75# is well enough. 100# will give you about a 2.5"-3" layer.

Thanks for your input guys I went ahead and picked up 100 lbs from petsmart came to a total of 101.43 its on sale for 18.74 a bag

Surprised no one mentioned about the moon sand, it's really fine and light.

Try not to get too much flow going in the tank and keep your intake strainers really far from the sand cause any of it will destroy your filters.
