    my outside 100 gal pond is full of them. went thru this last year. toads. 2 large spot cats ate them self to death in a couple of days. thats not the worst part. a group of baby gardner snakes lined up for the buffet every morning. those same snakes are 14 inches this year and theres about 10 of them. every morning when i go out to feed the fish we startle each other.this is not a question, just venting. I HATE SNAKES!

      Well, we have a family of possum that use the cat door every year to partake in the free buffet of cat food in the house.  We have been 'startled' a few times too.

              We just try to get them out the door with a broom, but usually they get freaked and 'play possum', then I have to pick it up with a towel and carry it outside.  It's bizarre.  And I'd feel crappy shooting a possum playing dead.  Not very sport-like.

                Hmmmm.....nothing like the possums we have here in the hood....ours wil lunge with claws and show teeth.

                  That's how they react to guygeek...claws and teeth and hissing.  With me, they just pass out.

                        Maybe it has something to do with gender of those possums?  


                        Actually....thought about it and if I was face deep chowing down and guygeek rolled up on me I would probably hiss at him too...

                          Get you a pitbull.  When mine was still with us living the good life at my parent's house, he was a possum killing machine.  What sucked was when he brought his trophy up to the back porch to show off and then ya had to do something with it.  YES...MY PARENTS LIVE IN THE STICKS!!!!

                            I would worry too much for the dog.....those possums could carry all sorts of nasty diseases and such.

                              Yeah, he stayed up on his shots and he was so quick that getting bit or scratched wasn't even a worry.  They are some nasty animals nonetheless.
