  • Baby OEBT day 4.

It has been 21 days since I first noticed her with eggs (could be longer as she is really dark blue and it would of been easy to miss). The eggs look ready to hatch and I am getting really exciting at the prospect. I estimate there are between 15-20 eggs, not sure how many will hatch but even if it is only a few I will still be stoked.More pictures on my blog - http://oebluetigershrimp.com/2012/03...21-and-a-half/feedback and comments always welcome.

Just a suggestion but why don't you update the same thread so all your info and pictures are easily found for those that want to follow, without having to open another thread.

Because... I have no idea.... I will probably start doing that with my next post and name it appropriately and probably include some of the old pictures as well.

          Update Day 22 - http://oebluetigershrimp.com/2012/03...bout-to-hatch/

not a whole lot to report, the eggs appear about ready to hatch, new photos (in the same spot lol) Hoping they hatch in the next few days so I can try to photograph the babies.

How well does the picture represent their color compared to real life?

              They look kind of grey.
I ate my fish that died.

This pic is kind of bad because it is flashlight light in a heavily tannin'd tank, I recently had to pre-emptivly treat it with an antibacterial tea because the person who supplied my last batch of OEBT has a pretty nasty infection running though their tank. You should look though some of the images from about a week ago on my blog, much better color.

The do vary in color depending on grade ect.

The one's that were brought in today were freaking amazing looking! StuPiD dark blue and bright orange eyes even in the shipping bags which was kinda creepy looking.

Maybe when I have more room and Tim floods the market I might pick some up.

I have some that are really dark blue, the picture I posted is what I think they "should" look like. Personal preference but that shade of blue I really like. I also have one that is not blue at all but rather black with black stripes, also kind of different and cool.

It is my first berried female in a tank that is like 5% capacity.

And besides the owner of the planted tank has first dibs, I told him at work I would hook him up when I had extra.

By that time you should have your own culls :-p.

Speaking of which how are your little OEBTs doing?

*Update* That stingy B*tch is hoggin' all the baby shrimp!

In other words, she is still berried and still spends most of her time in hiding so pictures are near impossible.

On a side note another one of the shrimp from the shipment died, that is 3 of the 10. It is obviously some kind of infection, the person who sold them to me also experience many deaths. I have not started treating with a invert safe broad spectrum antibiotic in both my tanks.

Here is the million dollar question, as I have about 100 shrimp between the two tanks and the only ones dead or showing signs of infection are the ones I was sent, should I ask for a partial refund?

On a side note this person said that they could not see any signs of infection (cloudy shrimp) because all of her shrimp were dark blue, yet the shrimp she sent me were 8 blonde or extremely light blue, 1 med blue and 1 dark blue... sounds like she sold me a cull and labeled it as a random assortment, but that is just my thoughts on the matter.

I would be more worried about the ten infecting the rest of your tanks.
I wouldn't ask for a partial refund since most people only offer DOA, not a timed guarantee
You definitely got culls, nobody sells their prize stock unless they are getting rid of all of them your batch was just worse than the norm.
