Houston water

So I am looking at getting a small planted tank going, no bigger than 10g. My question for my first post is this, what does everybody do to prep their water before adding to their tanks in Houston? Just measured the tap ph and it is 7.8 where I live.

we have hard water. mollies, anubias, guppies... just do hard water friendly fish and plants
