Hello everyone I guess I missed this part when I joined earlier this year.
Hello my name is Jim and I am a fishaholic haha :) (little bit of AA humor)
I like to fish with a rod and an aquarium.
Thanks for having a fish hobbyist club to join. I joined earlier this year but just read posts never posted anything until after this Fotas show / club auction which was my first.
After being in Houston since 81' I finally looked for and joined some fish clubs. I still remember the two stainless steel slate bottomed 10 gal aquariums on a metal stand and the Zebco 202 fishing pole my folks got me when I was a kid that started it all :) and the minnows, bluegills, snails and crawfish I had in them.
I like/keep a wide variety of fish although I have no saltwater tanks set up at the moment but I have had in the past.
Tanks I currently have a setup are:
135 long
55 long
55 tall
30 tall
40 breeder x 6 on a single stand 2x2x2
10 x 3 cichlid fry tanks
Several tanks from 10 gal to 100 gal in storage for now.
Fish kept at the moment include (but are not all, to many to mention).
Arowanas, Giant Gouramis, Red Devils, Green Terror, Jack Dempsey, Pike, Peacock Bass, Red Severums, Parrots, Tropheus, Frontosa, Peacocks (several kinds), Zebras, Kenyi, Yellow Labs, Demonsani, Clown Loaches, Banded Leporinus, Plecos (several kinds from dwarfs to giants). and a few others not mentioned I just got at the auction the other night.
I'm sure I must have been in the fish stores at the same time with at least some of you, quite often on the weekends I hit several in a row, my favorites plus a couple I have rarely or never been to before. Anyway enough rambling on, thanks again! Who knows see you out there?
