They are actually kind of sneaky, I usually miss them when I try and get a camera. Same with all the sea turtles. There are a ton of them, but having a camera while they stare at you is impossible

That is awesome. I like the water spout photos and the whale shark photos. I always wanted to go offshort fishing, but I've heard so many bad stories @_@

Its honestly fun and a great time if the seas and weather are good. There are some party boats out of Galveston that are very economical. Usually it leaves at 6am in the morning and has 100+ folks on board. They supply poles and gear and bait and I do not beleive you even need a saltwater license as its covered by the charter boat. I did a bay trip awhile ago, but I think it ran all of $25-35 dollars for a half day. They have a cook onboard with some food and beer, not a bad little trip and you can go out deeper for a bit more. I'll see if I can find a link or something

So you are fishing and cutting bait at the same time? I thought you could only do one at a time. You are a true multi-tasker!

Well, usually there is 3 of us fishing. One starts catching bait and cutting (5# hardtails), the others start fishing for whatever we are aiming for (usually grouper or red snapper) and we fill up an ice chest in about an hour or two. If its a bit slow one of us will start cleaning the fish and I'll fillet some sashimi and make up some wasabi and soy sauce for a snack...

OK, stop right there. I know what you are thinking. There is no way your better half is going to fall for the old, "But honey, I just want to dig out the pond some more and add some large protein skimmers, the goldfish are languishing without it!" routine. She's sharp she'll see that one a mile off. Just stick to the shrimp and no one gets hurt!

Whoa thats amazing I truly envy you to be able to work and fish there! So are you there just for the majority of the year and come back home for holidays? Do you have to take a boat that drops you there? I would love to be able to fish there everyday? Has there ever been any scary instances like you almost fell off or a huge wave came?
