Refrigerator help

My fringe is not cold anymore does anyone on here knows or know who can check for me thanks in advance trying to avoiding spending $2000 for a new fridge. I really appreciate if someone can point me in the right path. Thanks again.

How old is the refrigerator and what brand?

One of the easiest things to do and check are the coils that are located right behind the fridge, they look like a coil of tubes running up and down the back of the fridge. Clean them with a dry rag or a duster and then finish off with a damp rag. Most fridges you can hear the compressor kick on and off, it will be a mild hum. You hear a hum you know the compressor is running. Check the thermostat. That's my best suggestion.

Is it a side by side type? with freezer on one side?

I use an air gun blow it out every year lots of debris get collected over the years. Think just need freon.

If the freezer side still work okay and the refrigerator side is not cold, check the coil inside freezer side. If there is too much ice, it won't blow the cold air into the refrigerator side.

It's running but haven't had a chance to really stay there to listen work n school full time so don't come home till night time will get a chance this Friday to fully examine it
