      • Thanks guys!

No skills needed. Its all in the gear.

Little update on the syringe pump set-up.

So I couldn't fine a wine chiller at walmart. All they had were mini fregs and they were also too expensive for me.

I'm have to tract down a used one or something. So in the mean time, I'm just running the syringe pump with no cooling equipment.

So far so good, the gorg has been very response to the new feeding regiment.

I took some more pictures and I'll post them when I have time.

p.s. might have to do a group buy with LA so I can order some more gorgs!

I feed very "light" compared to others b/c I have to watch my water conditions.

After I set-up my biopellet reactor I'm going to slowly increase the amount of food that goes into the tank.

(I'm assuming you are referring to broadcast feeding only)

1ml reef nutrition oyster fest and 1ml of roti fest mixed with tank water to 24ml dosed from 8am-10pm at 1.714ml/hour.

This is what I'm running on the syringe pump right now.

I also mix Fauna Marin products with tank water and feed that manual. (Been doing this or maybe two months?)

              1/10th teaspoon each:

              Ultra Clam
              Ultra Seafan
              Ultra Min F
              Ultra Min D (10 drops)
              Reef Chili

I wanted to test out FM's complete gorgonian product line before I order all the other some. I plan on dosing...

              1/10 tsp frozen cyclopeeze
              1/10 tsp DT’s oyster eggs
              1/10 tsp Fauna Marin UltraLife
1/10 tsp Fauna Marin Ultra MinF
1/10 tsp FM Ultra Sea Fan
              1/10 tsp FM Ultra Clam

A few drops of Fauna Marin Ultra B, and a few drops FM’s MinS (Amino Acid). I'm also going to change the syringe pump food combo to 0.40 ml/hr reed mariculture shellfish diet and 1.10 ml/hr reef nutrition roti-feast.

But this is way down the road when I get my tank packed up with NPS corals.

And I haven't been able to source locally any shellfish diet. I could order it but I would have to overnight it or something b/c I don't want to risk it getting bad.

Honestly, it's been reported that only shellfish diet and roti fest is all that's need to sustain gorgs long term (well over 1 year and counting on some tanks). But the FM products are really good and has a proven track record now.

                • Here are some macro shots of the gorg. I'll try to get some shots of it eating next time.

Couldn't get as close as I wanted too. I need a tripod so so bad!

This gorg has been open all day with the lights on and syringe pump running.

The test period is over.....I need to start stocking up on some more gorgs!

                          • Consider it done. I wanted my Duncan colony to settle in before I frag it out. Seems good to go now. Maybe I'll do it next week.
