I had this setup running for less thank two months as a planted tank.
I have since upgraded to a 70g corner bow front, and no longer need this one

Setup includes the following -

20g AGA Aquarium w/ Black Silicone - (24"x12"x16") (one side painted eggplant with an clear acrylic lacquer to give it durability.
(Bought it new at Fish and Pets Unlimited less than 2 months absolutely no scratches) (it also has perfecto glass tops)

($40 for tank and glass tops)

SunSun HW-603B Nano Canister Filter - good for up to 40g - 2213 equivalent - (bought new less then 2 months ago - has all media - hoses - fittings - spray bar - intake - ect. - (canister was very thoroughly cleaned before putting it away)
Oddysea 24" 4x bulb T5HO - w/ 2 external electronic ballasts - bulbs have ~ 4 months use - 10k - powerchrome midday - actinic - 6,700k
