I'm looking for some plants for my aquariums.

I'm mostly looking for 'java moss' but any of these plants are ok too.
    - Watersprite
    - Anacharis
    - Duckweed

Reply, PM, or IM me please.

Last year McGovern lake (Hermann Park) usually has more anacharis and duckweed than you can carry. I checked about 3 months ago and they (the anacharis) was just recovering from our colder than normal winter, but they should be taking over the lake by now. The duckweed was already covering parts of the lake then.

Will the anacharis be floating? or do I stick my hands in the water and feel around?
Thanks for the help! I'll try going there to find some.

They will be attached to the floor of the lake. You reach in, grab hold and pull.

I did it last year, took them home, cut them into 12 inch strips and stuck them in my gravel. In a couple of months they were about 40 inches.
I love the way they release bubbles in the tank. It looks like my air bubbles are on even when it is off.

they will grow free floating, so you can just wash them off and throw them in your tank.

I hope you don't have goldfish/Koi/ Silver dollars/ the anacharis is like catnip to them. The koi esp will strip the anacharis clean overnight.

I used to collect Java Moss all the time in San Antonio. I got it in huge clumps. Don't know where to find any in Houston though

                    In San Pedro park.
There is a little spring just west of the Big swimming pool.
Because of the weather we have been having the springs may have dried out. I know that they got completely dried two years ago and all the pretty fish died. There used to be a ton of pretty koi, some goldfish and dozens of pleco and crayfish in there.

If the little spring is dry you may try the big spring just north of the pool.
