Nah. If you keep 2 male bettas in a huge tank, that should simulate their natural environment enough to give the other one room to run away or hide. Keep them in a little noodle bowl like you guys did and well... unfair conditions, I say!

Big or small if its a true fighter it will find each other and when they do it will be a fight to the death.

If not it'll be constant harrassment and one will die from stress.
