The fish in my South American Tank have gotten big and need to be moved to a larger tank. Rather than doing this, I have decided to offer them for sale in hopes that they will find bigger homes. I also plan to sell the equipment (tank, filter, lighting…) that they now call home.
The fish:
I have three Red Spotted Gold Severems that are 5 to 6 inches long. All three of these guys are nice and fat (see photos). I would like to get $30 for each of these three fish. If you buy all three together, I will let them go for $75. (all three red spotted Severems SOLD)
I have one 4 to 5 inch long Green Severem. I bought this common Severem to show people what these fish look like in the wild. It is my understanding that the Red Spotted Gold Severems are bred in captivity and do not exist in the wild. My thoughts were that it would be nice to point out what they originally looked like in the wild. As this guy has gotten bigger, he has developed some striking orange coloring that really stands out. I am not sure if this occurs in the wild or if he has a few of the genes from his golden cousins. Regardless, he has grown into a really beautiful fish. I want $30 for him. (SOLD)
I have two 5 to 6 inch Argentina Cichlids (Herichthys – Argentea). These are supposed to be docile fish, but I needed to separate the two of them. When they were smaller, they got along fine in the current tank. As they grew, one became more aggressive, so I moved the more aggressive one to my African Cichlid tank. I suspect you could put them back together, if they go into a larger tank. I would like to get $25 each for these guys. I’ll let both go together for $40. (less aggressive one SOLD)
I have three Blood Parrot Fish. Two are 5 to 6 inches long, the third is a little smaller (3 to 4 inches). I can let the big ones go for $20 each. The smaller one is $10. (one large / one small sold)
Finally, I have two really pretty Red Flag-tail Prochildus. They are each between 5 and 6 inches long. As these fish get larger, their fins develop a lot of color. The color is just starting to come out in these guys (see photos). Please do an internet search to see how beautiful these fish become as they get larger. I would like to get $30 each for these guys; $50 for the two. (SOLD)
The equipment:
It is a long hexagonal (six sided) 45 gal tank. The length of each side of most hexagonal tanks I have seen are equal. In this one, the front/back sides are longer that the other 4 sides. The total length of the tank is 29” and it is 17” deep. It comes with a nice stand with a smokey glass door. It is filtered with an Eheim 2217 (Eheim Sold). I also have an aerator with a sponge filter. The lighting is a 24” two bulb Wave Point HO T-5. I will let everything go for $125. I will drop the price to $100 if you agree to take an LED light instead of the Wavepoint light fixture. I cannot sell the tank until the majority of the fish are gone.
An Aquaclear 110 HOB filter will be included with above prices.
I will be happy to work with you on the price if you want multiple items.
