  • Noticed last night that micro bubbles are coming out of the sump return. Gonna have to fix that today/tomorrow either by putting a sponge in the sump or relocating the siphon breaks below the water line. All the joints are siliconed or glued, so I've ruled them out.

    • Relocated the siphon breaks and things didn't change. Then I looked at my other wet/dry without a sponge pad and decided that adding one won't help much. So I did some reading and figured out that the water level in the sump was too low, which caused cavitation at the impeller. Raised the water level by 4" and that was the level that the bubbles started receding. Apparently, this is a known issue for high volume external pumps.

      • My petro fry are growing fast. They are all still shy of 2" but the moshi is already coloring up a little. They are now in the 55G with the blue background since I sold my 20L recently.

                            • They are called green schist, got them from Alamo Stone. These are about 40 - 60 lbs each, but the tank makes them look small.
