As for fish feeling pain? I never said they didn't. I'm sure they do. I don't think they feel cold as pain either. I do know clove oil will work but I have never had the money to be that humane...
I like many others on here grew up fishing . Scaling, gutting, deheading and eating what we caught ,so I don't see cutting its head off as violent natured , just what I would do .

Don't tell fish stories where people know you; but particularly, don't tell them where they know the fish.

You could miss, and to believe fish can't feel pain is a load of bull. Why would they scratch themselves against objects when infested with external parasites, or why do fish stop fighting/swim away when another fish beat up on them?

The 100% pain free method is the Clove oil method. You just put the fish in a bucket with some of the tank water and start adding clove oil until the fish is knocked out. It should start rolling over, this is the time where you can do what you wish. Chopping a fish's head/smashing it is messy imo. Just continue to add Clove oil until it stops breathing.
      you must not go fishing

I don't understand why if tilapia are band from keeping , why when they are sold at supermarkets , they are kept in huge tanks (LIVE) ? Wouldn't they only be allowed to be sold dead ?
Snakeheads are also band , also sold in supermarkets but not allowed to be shipped to the U.S (LIVE)? Only sold dead.

I do. That has nothing to do with what the OP asked though.

Sometime fish get sick. If they aren't getting better with meds. I will kill it. rather then watch it suffer. Also young Angel fish can be retarded. miss shaped. It is the breeders job to make sure they are pulled out and killed. At 14 weeks its easier to bage then gut. you can see the ones that need to go... I hate to do it but it must be done. I don't like cleaning the fish I catch either but I like to eat it.

He's talking about a pet. Not everyone is 100% accurate with a knife. As for fishing, that's not my job. I just catch and my dad takes care of the rest lol.

If they come check on your home aquarium for Tilapia they serious have nothing to do.

BYW my dad has bought live tilapia from the grocery store before. They may be required to filet them, but you know they don't always.

Is keeping your fish going to destroy the Great State of Texas? do you plan on releasing him in one of invasive species free waterways? Are you one of those people who are going to wipe out the fountain darter or the San Marcos Gambusia? Surely not. Kill the fish if you must. Or, sale him to someone out of state where it is legal to own an evil, genocidal, mean spirited, blood thirsty tilapia. The most humane thing to do is keep this beauty alive. FISH HATERS!!!!!!!!
My fish has no eye, he is called "fsh"
