Parashield doesn't have any copper or malachite green. It's more of a supplement than a medication - and there were no ill effects on my plecos or plants. With scaleless fish, you also have to be careful with the salt.

Don't ask me, I don't know. I'm just visiting the reality and can't wait to go home.

True but not so much as with meds. I've never had a problem with using salt and I'm sure other members haven't either. It's just less room for error. Not only that, salt is more readily available worldwide and cheaper than meds. I'm not sure if they have parashield locally in the UK, but I'm positive they have salt.

            White spot help

Okay i picked up some aquarium salt and some interpet anti white spot treatment, it has a picture of a clown loach on the front, says that its harmless to plants and filter and all species of fish apart from mormyrids, so is this safe for my plec and black ghost and shrimp?? How can i be 100% sure its white spot as no other fish have it and i read somewhere clowns come out in white spots when stressed but its not the disease ich?? Is this true?

No other fish has it correct? Does it look like white specs all over the fish or do it look like white blotchy skin tone? Can you post a clear picture of the fish?

I think if they were white and blotchy skin tone marks, it is/was stress. Mine do it every now and then.keep up water changes, and good food and they'll be fine. Keep an eye on your water parameters.

They were definitely spots, so would you say its safe for me to turn the temperature back down?

Not for a few more days. At least 3.

I would keep it around 80 - 82 permanently as a preventative measure since you have scaleless fish
                                my fish house:
                                2.5g- ramshorn hatchery
6g eclipse- yellow shrimp, chili rasboras, yellow apple snails
29g- geo grow-out, angels, 12"fire eel, dwarf frog, apple snails
45g- jade sleeper gobies, native killifish, feeder endlers

                                75g-
2 oscars, parrot, silver dollars, albino channel cat, syno euptera, bichir, baby jaguar, convicts, yabby
                                125g- fahaka puffer, rainbow shark
                                and about a dozen bettas....
