          Very nice, Dave. I did something similar with a 30 long that is still growing steadily for 5 years now. I'll admit it gets more frequent water changes than yours but the aged substrate keeps pumping out the nutrients.

              The bigger tank has 2 x 65 watt PC (Current Satellite brand).

              The hex has 2 normal T-8 bulbs, total of 30 watts (not much for a planted tank) and is supplemented with sunlight from a south-facing window.
