I like the light & dark substrate combo... makes it look like two lslands in the sea!
Thanks.... I was tempted to use a lighter colored sand.... looks great with the plants. I wasnt so sure about the gravel, but decided the fish would look better/appreciate a darker substrate.
My ammonia has dropped to zero, nitrites appear to be on the way down. I'm starting to get some brown hairy algea on some of my plants, gravel and driftwood. Looks like my blyxa japonica is not going to make it. Also, the moss rocks I made aren't doing so well either. I think I may have wrapped them too tightly. I guess I better grab some hairnet! My fertilizers should be here in a couple of days. I've read that I should wait a month or so before dosing... but at 3.5wpg and co2, and with the algea that I'm starting to get, I think I need to dose asap.
On the brighter side - the flame moss is starting to take off (if the algea doesn't choke it out) I think it's going to look pretty good in there.
Seems I got some bloodworms in my tank somehow. Never had that before. maybe some future inhabitant will be pleased :)
Oh, and the other driftwood has not sunk yet :furious:
