  • Wanted: Power heads, Any REEF CAPABLE LIGHT

Hello, I'm starting a salt water fish tank and I would like to purchase a power head, preferably koralia, and a marine land double bright LED. I know my prices very well and I know a 'good deal' when I see one. Please don't try to sell me a LED light over 50$ because I can purchase one off of drfosters brand new for 52$. Thank you for checking my thread. Have a blessed day.

The list of lights are double bright marineland led, reef capable marineland led, kessil lights are great.

what size tank do you have? are you planning to do a fish only system? chances are, a marineland double-bright may not cut it...... and even if it is for a fish only system, it's not going to look good. if you're set on a marineland fixture, reef-capable is the one you wanna get if you want it to look like a saltwater tank. maybe do some research on how the light is going to look rather than just knowing what prices are going to be a 'good deal'.

24", and I actually really like it! I'm an LED kind of guy. I did my research. This light is capable with reefs. I also like the MARINELAND REEF CAPABLE LED, if anybody is selling one of those.

Double bright will only sustain soft corals like zoas mushrooms and leathers you'll need better leds to keep the other corals like lps and such if you want leds get the marineland reef capable like already stated or get a fixture with quality 3 watt leds

Marineland "reef capable" isn't exactly capable of growing much corals, wattage is too low. It's a garbage led fixture for saltwater. And it's 100.00 on drsfostersmith. You would probably need 2 of those to be able to grow anything. Not sure what you're talking about with finding something for 52.00 that's led.

Since you're obviously concerned with money (bad thing to be concerned about moving into saltwater)... just get some t5s from http://www.aquatraders.com/20-inch-4...re-p/52302.htm since you're not looking to pay enough for name brand and be done with it.

Don't know why marinelad call their lights reef capable but they are not.

Exactly, if you're expecting somebody to let a kessil or similar go for less than 50 bucks you really are pie in the sky!
Either wop down the 52 bucks for whatever you found on drfosterandsmith, or you ARE going to have to reconsider your budget!

I have herd of those t5 HO's. Do those enable coral to grow?

Yes, a 4 bulb t5ho will have good coral growth in general. But it's a knock off brand to (aquatic life), so the quality of the fixture is unknown. Hence it being 1/3 of the price of the name brand.
