okay everyone.....i tried that sand that cichlidfan is getting for us.....here's my observations that i have .....
i put it in a 10 gallon tank that i'm cycling for my 2 little green bottle puffers .....it has been in there about 13 days now....and i have 2 oddysea 100, and an aquaclear 70, and a nano powerhead in there.....now that nano is certainly too much for that little tank and i have it adjusted down to a minimum for pushing water...and in my observations the sand moves in the current slowly, if it comes up when messing with the aquascaping it immediately goes back down...it doesn't create a cloud nor does it stay in the upper water table....and this is in a 10 gallon.....so if you put it in something bigger then i think you'll be truly amazed at the results of it.....i haven't had any problems out of the 100's at all and the intake for those is almost at sand level....i think that the sand is so fine that it just filters thru with no problems.....i am truly impressed so far.....i just thought you'd like another opinion on it's worth..so now you have mine....it will be going into more tanks that i have most definately......

Thanks for the second opinion FL, I know just about anything you can talk about has both pro's and con's, so we'll see how the sand does over time for everyone, I'm  sure they're be both positive and negative results for everyone, hopefully, just more positive's. Time will tell.

The sand man cometh and I have white sugar sand here in the warehouse. There is no hurry to pick up, there's 30 bags of it, so there's no need to rush. I'm sure I'll have left over bags sitting here in July.

The cost is 25.00 per 100 pound bags.

For those of you who would like less than 100 pounds, pm me with what you would like to have and I'll give you a price on your figure.

Many Many THANKS to FIREFISH, ACULEUS, & IMAGIRLGEEK, for driving out to the warehouse here and picking up some sand from me. I sincerely appreciate your help towards getting my investment back and I hope you love the sand.
I'm very curious to get your input regarding the sugar sand, so please share your thoughts with the rest of the boxers when you can.

Okay, so you know I couldn't wait to get this sand in the tank, right?  

Here's my review:

This sand is INCREDIBLE!  I rinsed it because I'm paranoid -- with a touch of OCD -- when it comes to the fish, but nothing came off the sand.  It was clean!  And when it was wet in the bin I use to wash sand, well, the only way to describe the consistency is that it's like cake or pancake batter.  Like CF and FL said, it is extremely dense so it settles almost immediately.  

But the very best part is how the fish look.  OH MY GOSH...it's like they turned into Vegas Showgirls or something.  I didn't even realize the colors!  I can't believe the sand made this much difference in their appearance.  

I give this sand 5 stars, and the fish gave it 2 fins up....thank you so much for organizing this Steve!!

I know what you mean about the fishies and how they look on different substrates. I'm glad like the sand, and I hope your fishies love it too. Keep me posted on your overall satisfaction. I'm deffinately going to try to get over and check out your set ups sometime soon..
