By the way, I finished up all of the trim/paint on Saturday.

And to answer the question of livestock, i don't know yet. It will be african cichlids I think, but I don't know which ones. I'm open to suggestions :)

okay....what kind of dye did you add to the quickcrete?  And I can just go to a store and buy "quickcrete" and the mysterious dye and styrofoam?  None of the above will harm the fish?

i have the same questions as above! what kind of dye...etc... Also did you put the background in and let it sit in the system for any amount of time so if it was gonna leach anything funky you could water change it until that stopped?

The styrofoam was from a wholesaler near downtown, I can get the name if you want, but I don't remember atm. The dye was the only concrete dye they had at home depot or lowes. It's in small yellow bottles next to the quickrete. Yes, I let it soak for about a month and did multiple water changes. Probably over-did it, but I was busy with other things anyway... :)

there where quite a few of them at the Swap N Sell today, maybe someone who was selling will chime in, I know the guy (cant remember his name) who came with Scott had a few bags of regani I believe, and I have one here that I maybe willing to part with if he doesn't stop chasing my chalinochromis brichardi up the walls.....

I believe Scott had some Julie Marlieri's and I bought 4 from Jughead at the swap and sell today.  Ken you may want to contact both of them and see if they have anymore.

                              Sweet project.    :emtthumbs:    :emtthumbs:
I did a similar one in Austin several years ago for a custom 84"  250G tall tank.  It also had an alcove that was a touch over 8' long.  I flushed the sheetrock to the living room and built the stand on the back den side.  All plumbing and electrical access was at the end of the tank in the extra space.  I used GFI and kept the electrical higher than any water could get.  After the living side was trimmed out, we slid the tank into place, did the minor plumbing hookup and then hid everything on the den side with a readily removable custom cabinet face.  This was for quick full access to the entire tank setup for major cleaning, emergencies or whatever. There were 3 standard doors above the tank for feeding and livestock addition. The lighting was permanently mounted and had its own exhaust/cooling fans thru the garage wall.
                              My "adiction" consists of:
150G show tank, 110g Mbuna "rock city",
                              2-75G mixed, 3-30G fry/growout/quarantine tanks.
