    New people selling stuff.

Well some people sound like they just want everything their way. Maybe they should go talk to all the other pretty pretty princesses and sort it out.

            Re: New people selling stuff.

Some of you guys just like to "whine" about everything . If someone wants to sell an item for $10.00 less than retail then......that's their choice . It's your choice whether you buy it or not . I don't get it......why should someone's asking price bother you? It's not that serious........quit "whining" . :banghead:

Not pointing fingers. Just making an observation.
Some people don't know the resale value of their stuff. They will get the hint when they get no bites.

                      New people selling stuff.

I think one of the reasons behind the post count is to keep people from just using the forum as a place to sell. Once you post 40 or so posts you kind of have something invested in the forum. And are more likely to contribute to it rather than just use it for selling.

wow I think and this is just my opinion that people should realize that $10.00 off a USED item will cause the seller to keep said Used item. I mean you could just buy it brand new for that. and like the OP said you should just expect to take a hit when selling used but thats just my thoughts on that. Another thing I don't really see this as a whine threadbut more of a how to make the forum better thread but hey it is a free forum and people do have the right to sing up and make their first post "for sale" thread just my two cents not meant to ruffle any feathers

This is the opinion of someone who makes a living buying and reselling items:

I want to give you an opportunity to consider the other persons shoes for a moment...

I am a telescope guy, I live in a telescope forum and can tell you all five planets and stars in our solar system. One day someone trades me an eheim 2250 for one of my auto-doodlers. I graciously accept even though this thing looks more like a cross between a wet-dry vac and r2d2 than any kind of filter I have ever seen.

Well, no one on my telescope forum has the slightest idea what this thing is much less what to do with it, so, I search out "Fish forums" and come accross this place. Obviously my only interest is in selling the eheim so I can get an upgraded thing-a-bobby so I make a username and post my eheim for sale in an area, or marketplace, where I know it will be seen by a knowledgeful and interested audience.

If I had to wait 40 posts I would just find another forum.. if I did not receive any feedback for my eheim after a few days I would know my asking price was too high and would start dropping it."

In the process if I received positive feedback from other forum members I would give out free advertising to my telescope buddies when telling the story "Hey fishbox was cool, if you are into tanks you should check it out. I sold my wet-dry vac there!"

Now granted.. my experience may not be the experience that every one has by any means, however, I do often find myself joining the occasional odd forum to get rid of a discretionary object I try to be polite and realistic with them when I do and so far have found nothing but good things in return. (:
